We decided to design our CD Album cover with a flipped image of the main female character in our video. The picture itself is an above shot taken from a bird’s eye view when in the woods, we wanted to have a scenic atmosphere within the photograph we used, this is why we choose to use a screen shot of a close up of the girl looking vulnerable and is sitting in a crouched position against the tree.
We then flipped the image over to create a mirror of the picture, adapting this other half to be in black and white as it was the back cover of the CD Album with the titles of the entire track contained on the album, which we took our song from for our music video. We thought that this would be exceptionally fitting imagery for the product as it represents our video and also the poster. This is because the character of the main girl has been portrayed as a fragile, broken mess (hence the Paramore lyrics).
We feel this works well as the emotion that we see shown by the girl symbolises her being trapped on her own, only seeing herself, thus why we chose to use a mirrored image for the CD cover, linking well to the video, and how she is all alone in a world of her own.
