How effective is the combination of my main product and ancillary texts?

We think that in the main, the combination of what we have produced overall works exceptionally as a package. We have aimed to create everything in the same style so as to keep all of the elements of the final product interlinked with each other and have clear-cut genre that our audience will recognise and hopefully appreciate.
The Video includes a vast amount of exceptionally quick cutting scenes that all represent what is happening in the main female characters mind. I think a fairly sizable aspect where we have shown and represented in our product is in our poster. It consists of lots of separate strips and sections of abstract images that we, ourselves tore out a glossy magazines and pieced together to create the final image. We did this because we wanted ours to be entirely different and unique to all others, so I think this worked very effectively for us as we were very pleased with the outcome.

We also designed a CD cover for the album of which the song is from. For this we decided to take a screen shot of the actual video (whilst editing) and transfer this image in good quality to a photo editing programme on the computer. We edited the picture to improve the quality of colour so that it appeared to be more vibrant.
We also thought it would look good if we flipped the image over so that, on what would be the back of the cover there would be a mirrored image of the girl on the front. We chose to use chiaroscuro lighting for this as this suggests possibly a mystery and a concealed side of her personality. We wanted this to represent how she feels so isolated and stuck almost in a world of her own, hence she only sees herself – the mirrored image.
The picture itself is a shot taken from above of the main female character sitting beneath a tree, crouched down in a weak, defenceless and vulnerable manner, this is to again, symbolise how she feels and make the audience aware of her emotionally.

Another aspect of our products that we particularly think highlights how effective they are among together, is within the video. We have tried to cut the clips shown to the exact description of what is being said to be happening in the lyrics.
As the song progresses the tempo of the music fits with how fast or slow the clips are and how many of them are seen. On the peak of the chorus, the lyrics ‘This is how we’ll dance when, when they try to take us down, this is what we’ll be, oh glory…’ are heard and at this point the video quickly cuts to show the scene where the people are outrageously dancing at a party. We have edited this certain part of the video in such a way that the focus blurs and changes speed therefore representing how the people at the party feel (I.e. effects of intoxication with drugs/alcohol).
A huge amount of the shots that are shown in the video are of the main female character looking to be distressed and upset. This is another as to why we chose to design our CD cover in the way that we did as it’s almost as if we have taken an element of the video and transformed it to make it appropriate for the album.

The music video, CD cover and poster have all been successful as they incorporate well with one another, obtaining the same atmosphere and mode throughout, as all three elements of our product fit together and suit the pop-punk genre of the song.
